This Christmas

I'm looking forward to finding inner peace. I'm looking forward to being ok with who I am. I am looking forward to just breathing and not worrying or stressing.

This Christmas I'm seeking for a sanctuary, a place where I can be who I am, where love is unconditional. Where being myself is the reason why I exist.

Protection against cancer

Cervical cancer hits about half a million women around the world each year, killing half of them. In Singapore, about 200 women are diagnosed with the disease each year, and 80 die of it, most likely because it is discovered late.

The news has been out for some time now in SG, maybe earlier in other parts of the world, that there is a vaccine to prevent this ( reduce the risk by 70%). Girls from age 9 to 26 are recommended to go for vaccination for cervical cancer. While it is not 100% protection, it does protect you from 70% of cervical cancer causes. In some developed countries, this vaccine is given freely to school going girls but this is not so for us. However, we are able to use our medisave to pay for a portion of the cost, if we are below 26 yrs old.

As you know I just past my 25th bday...so I tot I better go for it soon! And so I did, today, I took my first jab. In a month's time, my 2nd will be given and then another 6 months and I will complete my vaccination. I pay a total of $24 only. $300 from my medisave.

Cancer is not a joke.. And if a bit of it can be prevented at a reasonable cost, I say go for it. Many ladies might be hesitant but I think if you are in the recommended age, you should go for it, what is your loss? I hope the men reading my blog would also encourage their love ones to go for it. I mean, we can wait for the gov to give it free but seriously why wait when u can protect yourselves or love ones so easily now?

I know most of my girlfrens, and family haven't had their jabs, pls consider ok??? Cerverix or Gardasil (brands), which ever is fine, as long as they protect you!

PS. I took Cerverix as that was provided by the polyclinic and a doctor I knew recommended to me.

But if you kiasi, then take Gardasil, since it is FDA approved. (Cerverix is pending the FDA approval.)

You guys can find out more before you decide to take my words for it. But don't do nothing for God's sake.

If god made everyone special. Did She made some specially stupid? Sometimes I don't get why I let stupid things happen.

But I have to tell myself, I'm not stupid for everything. There must be something that can showcase my talent.

Unstoppable!

I watched it with Jes at the newly renovated Yishun10. The seats are great... And the theater is v clean!!! Hee. The air-con may be a tad cooler but overall, I love it!! So near my place u know. Haha.

The movie keeps you on the edge of the seat and is v fast paced. So much so that I tot it was only 30mins when it ended. Serious! Anyway, I won't go into the details but I think it is not bad la. I like both actors esp. Denzel Washington.. :) Chris Pines is good looking also.

But what is really unstoppable is my bestest pal! She got me to do up my resume!!!! Can u believe it? Thank you girl!!! But u should still be more punctual next time ok! I could have slept longer...

Then we went IKEA... Hope on the bus ard 8pm. Had a great swedish dinner. Bought some little stuffs and now I'm walking back home.

I'm a black girl

I dreamt that I was a black girl with a funky short hairdo, and I was in love with this white boy, who love me very much. We were on the run, chasing and being chased but after all was done and the race completed, it was a sweet ending. Just short of a kiss.

Frail and sickily

I don't recall that these words applied to me a couple of years back but suddenly it hit me that I'm often sick. Really often. I am taking lots of MCs this year and they are for genuine reasons man... In fact there are times I could have gotten MC but didn't bec I'm worried I'm taking too often.

Gosh, what happen? It couldn't be age bec people older than me doesn't seem to have this prob... So wat is it?
